Tina, I know of of a John Pine b. 1844/45 in Illinois (I believe in Clark County). This John Pine was a son of Gilbert Pine and Sarah/Sally Baggs, who were married in Champaign County, Ohio on 5 June 1828 and migrated to Illinois in about 1843 or 1844. Sarah/Sally was born in Ohio around 1813 (probably Champaign County), but Gilbert was born in Bedford County, PA in 1799. He was about 29 years old when they were married and she only about 15.He had come to Champaign County around 1827 to join three brothers and an uncle, all of whom had large families there (so, there were a lot of members of the clan -- perhaps fifty or more!).
Gilbert and Sarah/Sally had at least eight children: James b. 1831/32, William b. 1833/34, Henry b. 1836/37, George b. 1838/39, Margaret b. 1840/41, Benjamin b. 1842/43, John b. 1844/45, and Mary b. 1846/47.The family is on the 1850 US Federal Census of Clark County, Illinois (Livingston Precinct, District No. 48, p. 179, Dwelling No. 226).Though Gilbert gave his age at the time of this census as 40, he was actually age 50!
This is the only John Pine in my records that might seem to fit.
