Steward Pipkin of Yalobusha Co., Miss.
Steward Pipkin (b. 1784, N.C.) married c1806 to Marian Laws (b. 1792, N.C., dau of Aaron Laws)lived in Smith Co., Tenn.; Dickson Co., Tenn.; Pike Co., Miss.; Monroe Co.(now Lowndes Co.), Miss.; and finally Yalobusha Co., Miss., by 1834, where he died in the 1860s.
Children of Steward and Marian (Laws) Pipkin were: (1) Kinyon Pipkin, b. c1807, m. Sarah Honnell; (2) Elizabeth Pipkin, b. 1808, m. her cousin Lewis Pipkin Taylor, son of Samuel Taylor and Sally Pipkin, lived in Yalobusha Co., Miss.; (3) John Pipkin, b. c1813, m. Elizabeth Patterson, and died in the 1860s in Ark.; (4) Mary Pipkin, , b. c1817, m. Hiram Long, both died during Civil War; (5) Minor Pipkin, b. 1820, m. first Sarah Walker, dau of Warren Walker, m. second Nancy D. Riley, and lived at Mena, Ark.; (6) Sarah Pipkin, b. c1820, d. 1886, Yalobusha Co.; (7) Jesse Pipkin, b. 1825, m. Elizabeth Ann Barton, lived near Yoakum, Texas; (8) Asenath "Senie" Pipkin, died young; (9) Alexander Smith Pipkin, b. 1827, m. Louisa Jane Littleton, inherited Steward and Marian's log home in Yalobusha Co., where both died.
