Hi:I just found out about this site from a friend, and am new to genealogy. I have been on two sites, familysearch.org, which is free from the Morman church, and am on a two week trial for Ancestry.com.I am working fast to get as much done as possible. I may rejoin Ancestry.com, but I would recommend the free trial adding international at the same time to get much done.You may already be a part of Ancestry.com.

When I got to Henry Pitts, I ran in to some issues.First of all it listed two different wives, Mary Ann Dudgeon, and Hannah Collier, each with the same set of children. It just did not fit.After some research I found that there are two Henry's.My family lineage is Henry Pitts married to Mary Ann Dudgeon.The other Henry Pitts is actually, HENRY PITT.Henry Pitt was married to Hannah Collier.

Both Henry's are from Virginia and are similar age.

Here is the info on Henry Pitt b 1 Nov 1725 New Kent, VA and d 03 Aug 1803 Newberry, SC

Father Joseph Pitt 1700-1789
Mother Nancy Slaughter 1702

Spouse: Hannah Collier b 13 May 1727-d 09 Apr 1808

The neat thing about Ancesty.com is that many folks have already done research of which you can pull information for comparison.If something is questionable, then you can look further for more info.It is really fast to do research.However, on the trial I did not opt to use the European info, which you really need to keep on going.

The unusual thing about these two Henry's is that they both apparently ended up in Newberry, SC, and both were from Virginia, but with different birthdates, and places of birth.
