Pitts land in Edgefield, SC in early 1800's

An online article called Living Off The Land describes a piece of property owned by the Medlock family in Edgefield, SC in 1809 that is bounded by Starks, Stanmore Butler, Smith and Pitts.Does anyone have access to information as to which Pitts this could have been?My ancestor, Martin Pitts who was young and single at this time later named one of his sons Stanmore Butler Pitts.I feel there's got to be a connection here somewhere.Thanks, Alton Pitts
