Re: Allen Pitts, War of 1812--Edgefield, SC

I really don't know anything about this Allen.I saw his name somewhere as being from Edgefield and that he served in the War of 1812.I believe that my Ancestor, Martin Pitts was also from Edgefield and he named his first child Allen Pitts.This made me wonder if maybe the first Allen and Martin could have been brothers.I was hoping that someone would know the parents and siblings of this Allen and let me know if Martin could have been a brother.Then I would know who Martin's parents were.The first record I have on Martin is that he married Elizabeth Ray in Wilkes County, GA in 1812. Some have said that a Martin Pitts also served in the War of 1812 but I don't think I ever confirmed that.Thanks, Alton
