From my previous posting.I have a firm paper trail backto the marraige of my fourth Great Grandfather Alexander Place who married Mary Brown the daughter of George Brown, Tailor of Halifax, West Riding of Yorkshire. they were married in 1817. He was born c1778. He was possibly a relative of the Alexander Place born in North Molton, Devon, to George and Mary Place. This family did not seem to come from there as this baptism of Alexander appears to be the only record in that Parish Church. There is another Alexander Placed who fits the age of this Alexander Place who was a Linen Draper in Dublin, Ireland . He went into business with three gentleman who had originated fromEnglandTheir business started in 1778, the year my Alexander Placewas born or there abouts as I have two dates at my Alexanders burial.A DNA test is crucial for me I think as I haven't come across anymore family so far. Only several modern day family all holding out for the same information.
