Hi Bill,
I have a death date for Peter of 10/1804. I haven't made serious notes on the Sclosser family, just collected every historical note that I've happened across. There is quite a bit of history out there about the Schlosser's. For now, this is the unconfirmed family of Peter and Suannah
Children of PETER SCHLOSSER and SUSANNAH REGNAS are:
i. ELIZABETH6 SCHLOSSER, b. March 28, 1770; d. March 10, 1833, Hagerstown,Washington County,Maryland; m. LEONARD MIDDLEKAUFF; b. September 18, 1763, Hagerstown,Washington County,Maryland; d. January 24, 1851, Hagerstown,Washington County,Maryland.
ii. GEORGE SCHLOSSER, b. Abt. 1772.
iii. PETER SCHLOSSER, b. October 1777, Boonsboro, Washington, Maryland.
iv. CATHERINE SCHLOSSER, b. Abt. 1781.
2. v. JOHN SCHLOSSER, b. April 02, 1782; d. August 20, 1862.
I have a lot more generations aquired than this but hesitate to put it on the internet for fear that someone will take it for gospel!
Although I am not directly related to John Poffenberger, John was the third cousin of my gr gr great grandfather Daniel Poffenberger and 2nd cousin to Daniel's wife, Barbara Miller. John's 1st wife Nancy Miller was Barbara's aunt. I am of course very interested in Antietam's families and have just ordered 'Too Afraid to Cry, Maryland's Civilians in the Antietam Campaign' by Kathleen A Ernst
in the hope of getting some clues about my Miller roots! Happy hunting and let me know if there is anything that I might have that you would be interested in.
Suanne
