Hi James,
I reviewed the St. Louis records for the Andrew and Bertha “Jarzemski” Family.
According to the census and death records, Andrew, Bertha and their son Frank were all born in Germany. In the 1920 census, Bertha (by then divorced from Andrew) indicated she was born in West Prussia.
In my previous posting (#54651), I indicated that on Joseph and Marianna’s church marriage record from St. Hyacinth, there was a reference made to Joseph’s baptism having taken place in “Marzencice” (probably should be Marze~cice with a Polish diacritical mark under the “e” and pronounced “en”.
Did you get the image of the marriage record that I emailed to you?
There are two (2) locations in present-day Poland with the name Marzecice.Only one is in the old partition of West Prussia. That Marzecice is now located in the Polish gmina of Kurzetnik, the powiat (county) of Nowe Miasto Lubawskie and the province of
Warminsko-Mazurskie (it was formerly known in German as Neumark, Westpreussen).
Best regards,
Norbert
