Jonnie, I do not know of a Polk connection to me.I am a descendant from Corp. Jeremiah and Anna Catherine (Long) Clontz then to Jeremiah and Catherine (Surname not known by me) Clontz, then to John Adam and Serena (Huneycutt) Clontz, then to Jeremiah A. and Elizabeth (Kiker) Clontz to Serena "Rena" Clontz and John Wilson Rushing, to Mary Elizabeth Rushing and Samuel John Wilson, my grandparents.

I became interested in the Polk Family while trying to locate the Mr. Polk who married Corp Jeremiah and Anna Catherine's daughter Catherine Clontz who I have learned was married to Charles T. Polk and went to Hardin Co. TN.That's how I became aquainted over this website with David Cagle who has many folks from my part of the States.

I have to admit that I don't know all of my lines and as you yourself stated, I'm never surprised at anything. So who know's what I will learn from the Polk families as I learn more about them. For instance,I do not know the name (not even the first name)of the wife of George Christian Kiker of Anson Co. NC.He was the son of the Revolutionary War Patriot George Adam Kiker and was the father of Charles A. Kiker of Union Co. NC.Charles married Martha Cuthbertson and they are the parents of Elizabeth Kiker who married Jeremiah A. Clontz.I don't know Martha Cuthbertson Kiker's mother's surname, Catherine wife of David Valentine Cuthbertson, Sr. son of Moses and Martha (Surname???) Cuthbertson. So I have a lot of looking still to do.

Thanks for all your help and thanks for asking.
