I see that the dates of these are very old so I don't know if it matters now.But my name is Jonathan Polk.John R. is who I am named after.He is my great grandfather.I am the son of Michael Polk of Picayune, who is the son of Fate Benjamin Polk, formerly known as Lafayette Benjamin.His father is thus John R. and sister is Celia.

My dad told me that My grandfather Fate was born in either prentiss or columbia mississippi; however, he did tell me that a long time ago the family records, in the time of John R. were lost due to a fire in the building that housed them.I came across a tree line once that I have yet to see since I originally saw it, but it said the father of John R., I want to say was Luke Polk, but I do not know if that is legit.I've been to John R.'s grave in New Palestine many times.There he is buried with Celia.My grandfather is Buried there next to him with his first wife Elizabeth Holsten Polk, my grandmother Lena Mae, an infant son John Thomas and my Aunt Caroline Polk Maxwell.Let me know if you hear anything new.
