A. O. A. is my g-grandmother Anna Ordella from Cynthia's previous marriage, and she would have been 7 in 1880. Her father's name was Alawine, but I have no information about him -- not even his first name; "Alinyn" is a mangling of that. I don't know Cynthia's maiden name.
The family Bible showed the Alawines were from Missouri, which led me to a dead end. From a couple of preliminary online searches, I think now I'll have better luck finding them in Mississippi.
I'll let you know if I find any more about these people.
