I was pleased to see your message concerning Ishmael Poll.My GG grandfather Barnes Ford married Ann Poll at Wymondham, Norfolk, 7-11-1825.The two witnesses on the marriage certificate were Ishmael and Sarah Poll, we have no further details of them, but a local lady, Mrs Yallop's great grandparents were a Ishmael Poll who married a Sarah Shrimpling?.Ishmael born 31-7-1827, Sarah born 23-8-1829.Mrs Yallop believes that each of the Ishmael Poll's first son was named Ishmael also.We think that the witness Ishmael Poll may have been the father of her gg grandfather and may well have been the Ishmael Poll born 1809 and the son of Ishmael born 1774.
I have been in contact with Sylvia Reinke in Queensland, Australia who e-mailed me recently and told me that she had some information about the Poll family going back two generations from Barnes Ford and Ann (nee Poll) Ford.We have no information about Mary Poll unfortunately.Perhaps you could contact Sylvia at dasy@hypermax.net.au
