There are definitely a lot of similarities. And I have only seen him listed as Benjamin Madison Poss in one place, which was not a primary source. The census lists him as Madison in the 1870 and 1880 census where I have found him.
The thing that is a bit confusing is that he had 2 wives named Elizabeth. The first one was born in 1828 in NC and was living with him in Paulding Co, GA, in 1870.The second, Elizabeth Paris, married him in Warren Co, TN, in 1878.She brought at least 3 children to the family by her previous husband, Sarah, Appleton, and Dillar. They were all living together in Dekalb County, TN, by the 1880 census. She was 40 in 1880 and born in GA.I do not know her maiden name.
I am not sure if James C. Poss belongs to Madison's first or second wife.He was 2 in 1880, but I don't know when Elizabeth 1 died. And he may have been born in 1877 as well as 1878.
