MI Potters Lester Clyde Wellington

I am trying to locate info about ancestors of Potters from Detroit, MI. My ggrandfather was Lester Potter, Detroit police captain, circa 1890's-1930's.Don't know much about his ancestry, but probably Dutch or English. Brothers Clyde & Wellington also police dept. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
