I have a little more information on my branch of Potter family, and was wondering if any of it rings a bell with you.
Lester Potter married Ida Mae Crout, both reportedly born in Detroit.Don't know what year, but know they had a son Arey b. 1902.Arey's siblings were Randle, Clyde (married Margery)Wellington, Dorothy, Margaret and Helen.Lester was a Detroit police lieutenant sometime in the early 1900's, and supposedly co-founded the Detroit Police Field Day for police widows and orphans. He was also the police "censor" for Detroit, monitoring burlesque houses, etc. for decency standards.As I said, his son Arey was also a Detroit cop in the 30's thru 50's.
