Thanks for responding.Maybe we'll find a connection.Is your macular degeneration of the early-onset kind?I'm sorry to hear of it, and hope that, like my aunt's, yours is under control.My grandfather's was so bad he had lost most of his vision by the time he was 50.My Lester was born in New York, in April of 1976.His father was born in England, but I have no name or dates for him.I do also have an Edwin Arey Potter (my late uncle).Lester's sons were Arey, Clyde, Randle & Wellington, and his daughters were Dorothy, Margaret & Helen.Orland is another unusual Potter name in this family.
He and at least three of his sons, including my grandfather, were Detroit policemen.A family story has it that Lester's father's family gave him (Lester's father)a stipend to leave England permanently and go to America because his carousing & drinking embarrassed them. Odd, because the subsequent generations were not drinkers, as far as I know.Let me know if anything here looks familiar, and I'd love to see what you have!
