I realize this is an old thread, but I thought I would chime in.I believe this is probably the same Ambrose Powell who is an ancestor of mine, but I'm not certain.The place and time is about right, and certainly Ambrose Powell's granddaughter Mary "Polly" Powell who married Hugh Turnbough/Turnbow of Wayne Co., TN is a definite ancestor of mine.The following is a brief outline descendant tree derived from my GEDCOM data:
