By the way I also found a Rose Teagarden who who made application for her son James Henry Powell for Mississippi Choctaw.

She states that

James Henry is the son of James Ambrose Powell who is the son of Isom Powell who is the son of Ambrose Powell.

She states that Isom Powell born is Mississippi and had brothers P.O. Powell and John Douglas Powell and maybe a Will Powell and that one of them was on the Rolls.

She also states that Ambrose Powell died in Arkansas and was a Full Blood Choctaw.

Her daughter Jennie Cox made testimony and when asked through who she was claiming she stated Shoats, then they ask her didn't she mean Ambrose Powell and she said yes.

Another daughter Winnie Foland gave testimony and stated that Isom Powell's wife was still living in 1902 in Arkansas.She said that her mother Rose and her father James Ambrose Powell had split up when she was about 7 and he was staying with his mother Mary Jane Powell when he died.

A first cousin of James Abrose Powell was John B. Powell.

Rose also stated that that Anothany P. Powell was a brother to Isom Powell but changed her mind when she found out he was a black man.

She described her son as dark color and black eyes, they asked her if it was as dark as her hair and she said my hair is brown his is black.

Rose also states that she and James Ambrose lived in Choctaw Nation for about 10 years and that his mom and dad lived there to.I think she was talking about the Choctaw Territory that was part of Arkansas.
