Betsy Choat who married Lewis Powell was supposed to be Cherokee according to several applications to the Cherokee Tribe. All were denied because they were "put off the boat because of smallpox".The place they were put off is now Morrilton, Ark.I have not found whether Betsy was with them(decendants) or not.I have not found where she lived in Arkansas, but her daughter, Patsy who married Ningon Riley did.Also several of the Powells stayed there.
