I am a Grandson (of some degree) of Ambrose through his Son, Elias, and Elias's Daughter, Argin.Thanks for all your hard work and the great information you posted.I hope you can find some time in the future to further elaborate on a few points for a person who has not seen too many documents relating to this family.

This is the first I heard of the uncertainty regarding Margaret Holt's identity as the Wife of Ambrose Powell.I saw the Will of Michael Holt which named Daughter Margaret Powell, and figured it was a good connection.If we do not know Ambrose's first Wife is a Margaret, what is the source that indicates that she was a Holt at all?

I'm also interested to know about the John who Margaret Holt married and how you have connected him to be the brother of Ambrose.I have a John (born circa 1740) who married a Jane Holt as the brother of the Father of Ambrose, Elias, but have seen where others name this Jane as Margaret.

Any thoughts are appreciated.
