I am descended from Mary Pratt Greenough.Recently I discovered a David Pratt Greeno/Greenough b in
Schenectady, several years after Elizabeth Greenough's birth. Since then I spent much time seeing what I could find about him.
I found much info about David; however with no solid proof andmuch circumstanial evidence. I ran my info by
another researcher who feelsmuch as I did, that what I did find certainly is strong, mayhap circumstantial evidence, but that is all that is there.
Elizabeth Greenough married Alfred Stillman and had five sons; he died in the early 1850's leaving her with five boys and not much money. She married an Englishman by the name of John Harris and they lived in Brooklyn NY.Actually I unearthed Mr Harris' first name sometime last fall. Elizabeth Greenough Stillman's grandaughter, Anne Stillman Waldron was my grandmother.
John Curtis Greenough is difficult to track; I found his name in print in one source only:In David Pratt's will he names Polly Pratt, my daughter, and John Greeno as her husband.
I am curious, how do you fit into this picture? Are you related in any way?David Pratt Greenough had four daughters. There is some speculation that possibly John C. and Polly Pratt divorced.Either that or he died about 1830 and totally disappeared.
Feel free to contact me if you have any specific questions.
Regards N Heron
