Thomas Prickett, d 1663/4 VA
I've been studying Thomas Prickett who died in Northumberland, VA around 1663. He leaves an orphan, Elinor and in 1664 John Prickett is gifted with a calf from Jonathon Bennett.Thomas Prickett's widow, Bridgett has married John Essex by 1665.Through court records, it becomes clear that there is a Thomas Prickett Jr, born around 1650, who receives a cow in 1654 and land in 1671.In land records, I realized that Thomas Prickett is listed by John Cole/Coale in a headright claim for 4 persons, 200 acres, Thomas Pritchell(Prickett), Elis-a Ellenore (Prickett), Jn-o Richard (Prickett) and Winifred Eaton. Is this another mention of the 3 children of Thomas Prickett? Are there more children?
It appears as if there is another Prickett connection.I would guess that Richard Budd's wife, Elinor is a sister to the elder Thomas Prickett as they are close neighbors and in the early Northumberland court records together.Anyone researching these early connections? We would love to learn more.Cynthia
