"I Zachariah Pricket of Northampton in the County of Burlington and in the Western Division of the province of New Jersey husband = man [husbandman] Being Sick and Weak in boddy (sic body) But of Disposing mind and memory praised be God Almity (sic) for the same and all other his Mercys.I calling to mind the mortallity (sic) of my Boddy (sic) and Knowing that it is appointed for all men once To Die: Do Make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament That is To Say /
ffirst and principally of all; I Give and Recommend My Soul into the hands of God almity (sic) that Gave it[,] and after my Body I Recommend to the Earth To Be Buried in a Christain (sic) like and Descent Manner at the Discretion of my Executor hereaffter (sic) Named. And as Touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to Bless me with in this Life: I Give Devise and Dispose of the same in the ffollowing Manner and fform --

[note: nephew John is probably one and the same as the person some call John Wales Prickett. My own take is that Wales was not nephew John's middle name, as middle names in America did not come into common usage until the early 1800s.I surmise someone stuck the name Wales to John as a potential location reference believing the Pricketts may have been from Wales, but failed to clarify what they meant by its insertion.]
ItemI Give and Bequeath unto my Dear and Loving wife Elliphi Pricket the use and benifit (sic) of all that part of my plantation whereon I now Dwell. Together with the houses out-houses buildings and Improvments (sic); Duering (sic during) her Natural Life. I also Give my said wife one pair of Chest of Draws (sic drawers) & one Large Chest: Six Chairs: one ffeather bead (sic) and ffurniture: one porridge pott & frying pan and Small Table: and all My puetter (sic pewter): and one bay pacesing (sic pacing) mare Side Saddle and Bridle
Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Son Jacob Pricket his heirs and assigns fforever all and singular my Messuage Tennement (sic Tenement) Tract of Land and Plantation now in the Tenure and occupation of my Son John Pricket: I also Give my said Son Jacob all and singular my Messuage Tennement (sic) Tract of Land and Plantation whereon I now Dwell; To be possessed and Enjoyed by my said Son Jacob Pricket his heirs and assigns fforever; after the decease of my above said wife.I also Give my said Son Jacob Pricket all the rest and Residue of my estate: Whome (sic) I also make and ordain only and Sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament; ordering him my said Executor to pay my Just Debts ffunieral (sic) Charges and the above mentioned Legacies within one year after my Decease hereby Revoaking (sic) Disallowing & Disannuling (sic) all other former wills and Testaments Legacies and Executors by me before This Time Named willed and Bequeathed Rattefieing (sic Ratifying) This and No Other to be my Last will and Testament

Be it Remembered that on the fourteenth day of March Anno Dom: one thousd Seven hundred and twenty seven [e.g., 14 March 1727/28] personally came and appeared before me Samuel Bustill, Surrogate and Register of the Western Division of the province of New Jersey duly commissioned and appointed, Jacob Pricket the Executor within named being one of the people called Quakers on his Solemn affirmation according to Law doth declare Testifie (sic) and affirm, that the within writing contains the Last Will and Testament of Zachariah Pricket the Testator therein named as far as he knows and believes and that he will well and truly perform the same by paying first the debts of the deced [deceased] and then the Legacies contained in the within Will, so far forth as the Goods Chattels & credits of the said deced will therewith Extend or the Law will Charge and that he will make a true and perfect Inventory and also render a Last account when thereunto required

Although son Jacob is identified as being a member of the Society of Friends, apparently father Zachariah was not, since the characteristic form of the Quaker date system is not used in the will text.Further, most wills of those who were Quakers often contained a separate bequest of some small amount of money to the benefit of the Society of Friends, which is not present in the will.
