Albert Edward Priestley

I have had no success at all in tracing the family of Albert Edward (sometimes Edward Albert) Priestley born in London on (according to his daughter Alice May Priestley) 10 March 1857 London Middlesex, died Birmingham 7 January 1934. In the 1871 census he gave his place of birth as Mayfair, London. According to his marriage certificate (he married Clara Woodward on 17 March 1880 at Birmingham Registry Office) his father Edward Priestley was a "licensed victualler, deceased" in London. This tallies with his daughter Alice's saying that the family kept a pub in Battersea Rise, London. There is no record of his birth ever having been registered at the GRO. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Dennis.
