Thanks so much for the quick reply and all the great info. Yes, this fits in with what I just discovered over teh past weekend by accessing wonderful notes from Eric Whitehouse of Yarmouth Co. who has been collecting computerized info on the ELDRIDGE and related families for a number of years. I just finished photocopying his notes and index which are starting to fill in all those "distant" kin I knew about, but was having a problem tracking down.
I think in the "Prime" book it mentions that Lizzie Prime b. 1871 d. 11 Jun 1937. This seems to be only one month and 5 days after the death of her mom Tabatha who lived to the grand old age of 95. Wonder if the book mentions anything about something that was "catching" going around at the time ?
You mention "Benjamin Sr. was married to Mary Ann Hersey in Freeport NS in 1812. She was the daughter of John Hersey and Mary Eldridge." Since Benjamin Sr. was only b. in 1803 and I assume Mary Ann was abot the same time period (her parents were b. 1783 & 1784 resp.) I think the Benjamin & Mary Ann wedding year was more likely 1821 or 1822 - yes ?
I will look up the "Prime" book when I visit Digby another time. I had a nice chat with Luella Marshall and some of the others there this past summer. I know there are various other family names from Digby area who married into the Eldridge lines (Marshall, Porter, Churchill, Lewis, etc.etc.).
I am also trying to solve a "mystery" of a Richard Hines who I believe was one of the Hatfield Grantees of 1801 in Digby Township. He may have been the progenitor of my mother's HINES people in Pubnico, Yarm CO, but I haven't had time to check that out yet.
