Wm 1738 & Mary(Nicholson) 1750 Dumfries to Barton

I have a Margaret Proudfoot married to a William Herring in 1808 in Penrith in Lancashire Eng.

Her father may have been william Proudfoot born in Johnstone, Dumfries in Scotland in 1738 son of John Proudfoot and Jean Thorburn.William married Mary Nicholson sometime before 1781, and apart from Margaret they had atleast 3 other children Peter 1787, Edward 1789 and Jane 1784 all born in Barton, Westmoreland.

Any informationopn these and the existance of an associated Thomas Proudfoot - Bondsman at Margaret's wedding in 1808.
