Sylvester (sp?) Proudfoot

Hi, I am looking for info on Silvester Proudfoot.I am actually a Proffitt researcher & every Profitt (any spelling) decends from Silvester Proffitt.There has been a lot of speculation that his name was really Proudfoot.He was a Jocobite rebel captured in Presto, England & sent to America as a prisoner on Jan 14, 1716 on the Elizabeth & Ann.Some people think he SAID his name & the "d" was silent & they wrote it as they heard it.THERE IS NO INFO on this man other than what I have given.He was (maybe) born in Perth, Scotland, late 1600's...THIS MAN IS A MYSTERY!! Please help!!!!
