I'm the son of Ernest Columbus CARTER and Irene PATTERSON.Ernest was the son of Lula Elizabeth Wells and Robert Franklin CARTER Sr, and Robert Franklin was the son of Robert CARTER and Josephine LIGHTSEY.What I've been trying to get is some information on Robert CARTER, where he came from, his parents and also his siblings.

From the information I have from family and some from friends now on the Internet, I'm trying to get as much information on the CARTER lines and whom they married, divorced, etc., and I ran across this data on the PROUDFOOT name and thought I'd try that with a message.Do you have any inforamtion on the CARTER lines back in Savannah, Hinesville, Gum Branch, etc?Will be glad to share with you what I have also.Most of what I've gotten in the year that I've been doing some genie work is on my mother's side up here in North Carolina.Have pictures of graves, and tons of relatives going back to the late 1500s in England.:-)

Anyway, I'd love to have any information you might have on the PROUDFOOT and/or POPPELL names and how they connected to the CARTER lines.Will also be willing to share what I have on the CARTER lines and others as well.

Thanks for the reply!Used to have a cousin of mine that lived in Brunswick, Richard CARTER, Jr., now lives in Atlanta.For me, I was born in Savannah in 1946 and went to school there until I left for the military out of high school.Then, my folks died and here I am in NC.:-)
