Hi Pat, I'm a descendent of the Proudfoot line from Dumfries, a John William Proudfoot born in Loch Brawmuir, Dumfries in 1769. He had John 1797, Mary 1799, James 1802, Alexander 1804, Jean 1806, William 1808, Thomas 1811, Robert 1813, Grace (Grizel) 1815, Walter 1817 and Margaret 1819.Johnstone Parrish figured promiently in the early part of the family tree.My lineage is from James Proudfoot who immigrated to Prince Edward Island, Canada.
I don't know if we are related in any way, but I have very little info on the other children of John William and there might be a connection.
