Dear Debye,
Thanks again for your help. In the 1870 (ward 11) and 1880 (ward 9 west of Cane River) censuses I have John and Milie (Emily) Foreman enumerated at the residence directly next to the Plauche's with Milie listed as a cook (possibly for the Plauche's?). Marie Ophelia Plauche (born a Prudhomme) was a widow and had some sons- JJA (Jean Joseph Alexandre) AJ (Andrew Jackson) and Charles- living with her. JJA was a merchant. During 1870, another white planter in the vicinity was Alexis Cloutier (son of JB (Jean Baptiste) Cloutier). During 1880, Louis A., Oswald and Achille, as well as other Prudhomme's, were nearby.
I also have other people listed near the planter Benjamin Metoyer (age 56) in 1870. Are you familiar with which plantation / area this may be?
May I contact you by e-mail with future quesions? I promise not to bombard you.
Brandon
