The family story is that Isiah's parents abandoned or that Isiah became lost as a child and was raised by the Pugh family with Isiah taking the Pugh name. Alabama history states these adopted Pugh's were living or settled in Arkadelphia, AL. The adopted parents could be an Aunt or Uncle to Isiah.I am seeking the surname of Isiah/Isaiah or the adopted parents names of Pugh.
There is 24 years difference in the ages of Isiah and Artimissa, Isiah was 43 at the time of marriage and Artimissa was 19 years which suggests that Isiah was married before. Supposedly Isiah/Isaiah fought at the battle Shiloh, however name not found, also suggests he used another name other than Pugh.
If any of these names sound familiar, please reply.
