One of the sons was Burton Louis Pulfer, my grandfather b. 10 March, 1906, in Los Angeles, CA He married my grandmother, Dorothy Louise Goodrich, of Kalamazoo. They had two children, a son, Burton and a daughter, Sharon, my mother.
I know lots of family is in the Detroit area and would love to hear more. Also, I believe there's cousin in Switzerland and also a possibility there are more relations in both Canada and California. An aunt, N. E. Pulfer, was single, and a fantastic artist.I have one of her pieces.Anyway, maybe this helps someone. It sure doesn't seem to be a common name.
