Sorry, John, for not havngread your message long since!I am interested in the John Pullen who married, on 20 March 1852, at Kirdford, Louisa Withall. I have no evidence that this is ‘my’ John Pullen, apart from the reasonable proximity of Kirdford to Brighton!(And the fact that I have been searching long and diligently for his marriage.) ‘My’ John was a schoolmaster, with his own school in Hove - I have visited both the school site and his home in Brighton, but have simply not been able to verify that Louisa was his second wife, or whether indeed is was someone else entirely. John Pullen was born ca 1802, in London. In the 1850s he took to corresponding with his younger brother, who lived in Sydney NSW.Some of the letters have been preserved, and make delightful reading. I should so like to know who his ‘dear wife’ was, who sent her warm greetings to my Pullens in Sydney. Can you help?
