Over at familytreedna.com I noticed that the Pullen and the Pootman[Putman] family y-DNA is somewhat close. There were Victor Pullman[s] or Pulleman[s] in the area of Pulle, Belgium, at an early date.
It appears that Johannes Pootman the early immigrant to American my "Putman" ancestor was the son of a Victor Pootman of Aalburg, North Brabant, Netherlands. The given name Victor really was not that common in this location.
I have a copy of the Van Pulle crest, which I think is from Pulle, Belgium, which shows a red shield and three five-pinted stars with other emblems in the center.
The place name Pulle is said to mean "Pool",and the Pootman last name is also said by some to mean poolman.
