Jesse Pullen born 1776 left will proved 14 Jan 1861 Rappahannock Co VA.He calls Thomas "brother", leaves home place to wife Nancy. He wills some of his land to Newman Nash and Nash's children. After the death of his wife his servant Kesiah should be free , should have 20 acres of land, and Nash is to be her guardian. (Following up on Kesiah might prove interesting). Jesse gives several tracts of land to Joseph Pullen (does not state relationship) In 1850 John Nash born 1846 lives with Jesse and Nancy.I have found no records specifying the names of Jesse's children and have surmised (circumstantially) that Catherine born about 1810 wife of Newman Nash was daughter; Alice who married twice ----- Menefee and James Frazier, and Joseph who married Narcenia Vaughn were probably other children. My ancestor William Pullen born about 1795 and his (probable) brother James Pullen born about 1800 might have been Jesse's sons - except that in the 1820 census an older woman lived with William and wife Rhoda Smith Pullen.Rhoda's mother was still living so I believe thatthis older woman was William's mother.William is the only Pullen in the 1820 census and is joined by the others (James, Jesse, Thomas, and Joseph) in 1830 and 1840....All lived near each other. Let me know if you can add or correct any of this information. Jesse's will is very difficult to read and my copy is fading with age.
