William Madison Pulliam, VA 1830's

I am stuck and need help.I have searched my Pulliam ancestors to a William Madison Pulliam, Sr., maybe from Virginia.I do not have a wife but do have a child, William Madison Pulliam, Jr., born 1852, don't know where, but he was married to Betty Clark and Mary Carolyn Fletcher, and had children born in Cotton Plant, Arkansas.I am in Arkansas and still searching.Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.I don't know why I think William was from Virginia, may have heard it from family, not sure.
