Thomas S. and Sarah Pullum of SE Alabama
Thomas S. Pullum was born in 1855.His father was Thomas Pullum (1822-1888).His mother was Mahala Clark Pullum (1832-1915), the daughter of Elijah Clark and his first wife, Sarah. He had brothers named H. K. Pullum (1851-1858 or '59) and John Drayton Pullum (1853-1936).He may have had a brother named "Mass" Pullum (birthdate and deathdate unknown).
Thomas S. Pullum appears in the 1880 census for Pike County, AL, living with his brother John D. Pullum; JDP's wife, Eliza Jane Burns Pullum (the daughter of Charles and rebecca Hamilton Burns); and their two oldest children,William Andrew Pullum and Charles Thomas Pullum, at or near Brundidge, AL.His name is given in this census listing as "Tomaso" for some unknown reason! It is believed that the initial "S" stood for "Sidney", by the way.
Per a headstone in the Clark Cemetery in northwestern Houston County, AL (on CR 59 North, just south of that road's intersection with US 84 West at the Brannon Stand Community), Thomas S. Pullum was married to Sarah (maiden name unknown), and they had a son named Mahonder who died in childhood. The headstone is for Mahonder Pullum. No marked graves are found for Thomas S. or Sarah Pullum in that cemetery, nor are any listed in the information for the cemetery available over the Internet. The death dates, places of residence at time of death, and burial places are all unknown for both Thomas S. and Sarah Pullum.
I am seeking any information possible about this man and his wife and any other children they may have had.I can be contacted as follow:
