I have been writing the Puls History pertaining to the family members who migrated to Australia circa 1848. Here is what I discovered from Germany. Maybe this is another branch, but thought someone might be interested. Claus Wilhelm PULS was my great-grandfather.
THE PULS FAMILY - HASELDORF, SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN, GERMANY. Johann Andeas PULS, b: circa 1790. Soldier, then employed as cabinet maker & farmer at station property of Organist Eggerling. Circa 1814, married: Anna Elsabe née JÜRGS, b: circa 1795. They had 6 children, all born at Haseldorf, Holstein at the home of Organist Eggerling. She was employed as housekeeper at the station property.
1. Claus Wilhelm PULS, b: 25/3/1816 – d: 7/2/1904.(my great-grandfather, migrated to Australia 1848) 2. George Friederich PULS, b: 31/10/1818. 3. Juliana Henriette PULS, b: 22/2/1821. 4. Anna Catherina PULS, b: 22/5/1823 (Died same day). 5. Johann Hienrich Andreas (Henry) PULS, b: 6/6/1824–d:(?). Miner. Married Maria (Mary) née NELSON, 29 years, from Copenhagen,Denmark, on the 26th May 1861 at Cambridge, South Africa. Henry and his family then migrated to Australia, circa 1871. Children born in South Africa were Henry William (he died), Mary Ann b: 1865, Herman b: 1867, Julie b: 1870, and John Andrew, who was born at 4am, 28th August, 1872 in Taradale, Shire of Metcalfe, County of Talbot,Victoria, Australia. 6. Anna Maria Elsabe PULS, b: 17/9/1829 – d: 18/1/1917. Married ship’s carpenter and magistrate Jürgen Heinrich SCHWARZ in 12/10/1855. Had 6 children.
