If the spelling of his name was not arbitrarily given for himhe was either connected to the Methodist-Episcopal minister the Rev. William Peurifoy of North and South Carolina, my great, great, great grandfather or one of his brothers who also changed the spelling of the name from the usual Virginia spelling "Purefoy."GAJ
