18th C. PUTTS in SC

I'm hitting a brick wall with ancestors of John Putt, born 1794 in South Carolina. I have John & Elizabeth from 1850, maybe 1830-40 if in Alabama, and all their descendants, BUT nothing to trace John to the South Carolina Putts.

Anyone have more info?
