Thanks you for all your help.I do know that Basile and Justine Henriette ended up in the Sudbury area by the 1901 census. Not sure when they went there though.Through the LDS church, I received a listing of Napoleon Menards marriage to Rose Thibeault in Michigan in 1885 that says birthplace for both was Quebec, Canada.
In the 1901 Census, I find Napoleon and Basile in Rayside, Ontario. This is one of the clues that points to Basile as being Napoleon's father.
I live in Kamloops, British Columbia. Although I was born in Toronto and lived for short periods of my childhood in Quebec, (Trois Riviere when I was three and Pierrefonds for grade 2 and 3) I am not familiar with the geography of that end of our country.
You speak of St. Benoit, Vaudreuil and Rigaud. Are these all places that are close together?
I also came across a obit for Emiliene Menard son of Basile and his first wife, that says Emiliene was born in Plaissance. Is this also close by?
Happy Thankgiving!
