This couple are my great-great grandparents from Ballyduff,
Ireland and the Carnmoney Presbyterian Church there.
The had a large family of children numbering eight. Their
children's names were: Hannah,Andrew.John and George Alexander, Maria, Nancy and Elizabeth also known as Eliza/Elixa and Ellen Jane Querey. The first four children were born in Ireland
and the last four in PA. Their birth dates begin in 1838
and continue on to 1858..Some of the marriages were with
the surnames of McCullough, Wilson, and their son John R.
Querey/Query fought at the Battle of Gettysburg losing
his life on 4 Jul 1863 there.
Jannet or Jane Rodgers Querey was of well known stature
and note as a Ballgown Dress Designer and maker of Military
Uniforms for the Civil War. She had a thriving business
in Philadelphia until John Wannamaker Stores became too
large a competition for her and her dau's who were part
of her Dress and Uniform Business. In the 1870's they
lived in the 26th Ward and 86th District of Philadelphia.
Looking to connect with descendants of this couple and
their children and other cousin's. William Querey past
away somewhere between 1858 and 1870. Jane or Jannet
as she was known in Ireland died in 1903 PA. Their dau
Nancy Giffen (Querey )Wilson, wife of William ,also lived in
Philadelphia and had a large family as well. They were also
the parents of 8 children also....
