Re: Phila. Raffertys 1920-30
I am so glad to hear from you.I am not sure if i can be of any help, but i will do my best. My Rafferty line seem's to have been a very elusive bunch.lol... Like i mentioned i was born 1945 in Phila., Fishtown , Kensington section.
My father's family was kept a big secret from me.
From the information i have gathered he used a few different names..... i was told he was called Duke Rafferty
, his real name being Charles Rafferty. but i have found out that he also used Cyril Charles... Cyril Aloysius..
C. Charles...He seem's to have lied about his age, so iam not sure when he was born. Sometime before 1904. He married a woman by the name of Margaret Marie Hill.. together they had a son Robert Rafferty born 1924. In 1930 they were living around Ridge Ave. and Schoolhouse Lane.. In the 40's they were living at 505 E. Wildey St. Fishtown section. Later they are listed on Bouinot St., inthe Kensington section.Robert worked for Allied Chemical Co. in New York...
Duke at one point worked for Interstate Oil Transport on Walnut St.in Phila.
Some of the other family surnames are : Malvey... Sweeney..
Ahern...Davis...Bosworth... Moore... Warfield..Preston..
I have more info , if you will email me direct i will send you more. In the meantime if you can run some of this info by your father , maybe he will remember some of the names.
Are you still in the Phila. area ? If so i have found another cousin recently, she is still in the Eastfalls area.
Her name is Donna Kennedy, she is out of the Stokesand Moore lines... my email is... [email protected]
