I saw your posting on GenForum.My husband's name is Rakowski and his father was born in Brooklyn in 1921.I know my father-in-law is the first born child of his mother's first marriage and the first born of his father's second marriage.My father-in-law's name is John Rakowski and his father was Francis Rakowski.

I think Rakowski is a fairly common name.It means a "crabber" or one who fishes for crabs.
