Ralphs of Newfoundland

I am doing research on the Ralph family tree in Nf. There's not a lot of info available about where they came from. I think it was England or Scotland and I have been told maybe Spain. They settled in Port de Grave and Flat Island, NF. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks
