Ralston Research Wizards,
I have been working on my family history on and off for about 5 years now and whenever I was stumped I would put away the notebooks give up on it for a while.Well in the last few days my Grandfather got me back on the Ralston track and I have made more head way it 2 day then I did in the past 2 years.I have found a lot of people I never thought that I would figure out, but like you all know it never ends.I need help with finding out more information about one guy and here is what I know.
Our mystery guy is

Here is what else I was thinking, everyone knows the Passenger Ship “Strafford” and its crew of Ralstons.Well from researching this site I was able to a count for all but seven of them using the post at http://genforum.genealogy.com/ralston/messages/1489.htmlhttp://genforum.genealogy.com/ralston/messages/1489.html
Here are the seven I could not figure out
James Ralston 15 County Tyrone
James Ralston 45 farmer County Tyrone
John Ralston 2 County Tyrone
John Ralston 11 County Tyrone
Josh Ralston 5 County Tyrone
Mary Ralston 12 County Tyrone
Mary Ralston 40 County Tyrone
Does anyone have information on these folks before I try to claim them?
I think that John Ralston Age 2 could be the one I’m looking for because in Schaghticoke, Rensselaer County, New York about 1820 in the census a James Ralston shows up.Then in 1830 James and James Jr. household are named in the census. In the 1840 census the households of James, James Jr. Richard and John (The One) appear. If you look at all the census information on The Ralston’s in Rensselaer County it seems to add up that they might me the “lost family” from the Strafford. My cousin William age 60 who still lives in Schaghticoke remembers his father talking about having relatives down in Pennsylvania. Let me know what you dig up.I'm going to post a website soon on all the Ralston's that I have found in Eastern New York and Western Massachuessets plus I'm going to have an online family tree.
