Thanks for sharing the census data on Samuel Ralston with us.. This helps so much.
Have you checked the Mo state archives for a copy of a newspaper obiturary on this Samuel Ralston? or do you think the county might have one in it's records?

From the 1850 census info; Samuel's 2nd wife Mary was only 20- do you think that the kids Rowana who was 11 & John who was 12 were from his first wife? Mary would have only been abt 8 when John was born so I thought these kids were from 1st marriage- just a quess.Do you know who the other kids in his family married?

Will you tell us more on your search for your Samuel who married Rowena Hill? what dates are you looking at?
