Rathbun-Cornwell-Gavit-Bidwell
I was sure I posted on a frum before, but cannot find it again, also was sure I rec a response from Robert Rathbun but again cannot find my paperwork. So I'll post again in hopes I can connect with others.
Harriet Rathbun b 1811 CT mar John Gavit bef 1830 s/o John and Lucinda Roath Gavit.John b 1804 New London, CT.I have seen a posting where there were married in Cayuga Co., NY but no sources were listed.
Harriet Rathbun d 11 Nov 1877 Liberty twp., Jackson Co., MIHer dc states parents as George and Louisa Rathbun, but I have my doubts about that.I have a copy of "John & Margaret (Acres) Rathbone" desc (can't recall where I got it) that states that Ansel Rathbun and Locicia Roth were the parents of Harriet, as well as her siblings; Mary Ann who mar Ariel Cornwell, Ansel, Augustus, George W, Ursula & Sarah
Mary Ann Rathbun Cornwell is written about in our Jackson Co., MI history as being a d/o William Rathbun, mother unknown. If Harriet and Mary Ann were sisters?? I have two different fathers...
The families Rathbun, Cornwell and Gavit all were in Cayuga Co., NY in 1830 and by 1840 John and Harriet Rathbun Gavit and Ariel and Mary Ann Rathbun Cornwell (and other family members)were in Liberty twp in Jackson Co., MI
After Harriet died in 1877, the last I can find her husband John Gavit is on the 1880 Pulaski, Jackson Co census living with his daughter Harriet and her husband George Bidwell (my gg grandparents).
I need help with parents of Harriet and MaryAnn and the death and or burial of John Gavit.Any info will be very much appreciated and willing to share any info I have on these families.(Sorry for such a long post)
