Re: John Stout Reasoner
Dear Marjorie,I replied to this a week or so ago but don't know if it reached you or not.So am trying again! I occasionally get a glitch in my computer when trying to go from a hotmail message into the forum.Good old Windows Millenium I think.Makes me crazy! Anyway, when I first posted on here about Royal Tracy Hawley and Edith Reasoner I didn't have a lot of correct family information to go on.Isn't that always the case! What older family members remember and what actually is usually turns out to be two different things!
Anyway,I found this connection to Reasoner in the history books. My GGGgrandfather was Royal Tracy. He married Lucy Reasoner and they had about 12 children. One of them was a John Ira Hawley. He is the gentleman who married a woman named Edith and last name we think may have been Dennett.I found this in the old census records in the public library.Unfortunately alot of them have wrong spellings and I can't find her either at this point. They had four children one of whom was my grandfather Royal Everett Hawley. So Edith Reasoner did not exist(she was a wrong memory from my mom and aunt) or if she did was not the one who married my particular John Ira.He did have a second wife after Edith D. and her name was Eleanore Sherwin. But we are pretty sure that Sherwin was a previous marriage and not her maiden name either.Interesting isn't it! I have come to learn while doing all this research that the maternal side is always the most difficult to trace. But I do have really good documented history on Royal Tracy and Lucy Reasoner. They are both buried at Crown Hill Cemetary in Seattle Wa in the Ballard area which is the northeast section of town. One of my soon to do projects, is take a drive up there one Sunday and take pictures of headstones in the cemetary.I have many more reletives buried there.Should be interesting. If you or anyone else is interested I would be happy to share what I have found so far. Thankyou! Myra Elaine Louderback
