You have a couple of things mixed up.William Grant Redden (Reddin)married Milley Burk in Caswell Co NC on 25 Nov 1812.Thomas Reddin married Margaret Carragin 24 Mar 1790.The 1850 Johnson Co AR census has William and Milly Redding (Redden) showing Wm born 1789 or 1790 which being close to the marriage date of the parents seems quite logical. The 1774 year some have used was the result of Wm's age being given as 96 in the 1870 when living with his daughter Susan who married Daniel R Lee. Wm was actually about 81.In the 1860 Johnson Co AR census Wm is living with the Leonard Underwood family and his age was given as 73 when it should have been about 71.Leonard Underwood was a neighbor (perhaps a relative too) of Wm's son, Lemuel Redding (Redden) in the 1850 Johnson Co AR census. There are 2 Thomas Redding (Reddin) (Reading) persons in the 1800 and 1810 Orange Co NC census. Some have given Thomas Reddin and Mary Holloway as the parents of Wm Grant Redden but they were married what would seem too early to be his parents but they may have been related. I forgot to mention that the actual census show that Wm Grant Redden was born in North Carolina as was his wife Milly, not South Carolina or Georgia as some have claimed. My email is [email protected]
